The 2027 Fischer Excursion 88 is one of the best all-rounders in this category. With a versatile shape that will allow you to take your adventure anywhere, this ski is a fantastic choice for someone looking for one ski to do it all. Featuring Fischer’s Crown pattern, this ski provides an excellent balance of grip and glide, while the full metal edge and prominent sidecut of the ski allow for a smooth and controllable experience both on the climbs and the descents. As will all Fischer skis this ski features rugged construction that is not only lightweight but incredibly durable, made to stand up to the test of time.

Why we like it:

An efficient ski that has great qualities from the frontside and backcountry world.

Who it's for:

The Excursion 88 is a ski that will meet the needs of skiers at all skill levels and is perfect for someone looking for an extremely efficient ski for the backcountry, but may also want to hit the occasional groomed trail.

Highlights:

With a beefy construction this ski can handle the rigors of backcountry use, while being lightweight and agile its a great one ski quiver. The full metal edge and wood core keep this ski durable, but not so overbuilt that it’s a tank. The flex pattern on this ski is predictable and supportive, which creates an efficient and easy to use ski.

Things to consider:

This ski may not be the best option for someone consistently breaking trail in deep snow, or someone looking to spend 90% of their time at the nordic center, it’s designed for everything in between though!

Fit & sizing considerations:

For more grip when climbing, going shorter can help, while going longer will provide a faster glide. However, choosing the length that is the correct size based on your weight is recommended.
