Base is a 16" molded, enclosed system. The 12" diffuser head, with a compound formulation and molding technique, ensures the Teflon coated membrane maintains its physical properties over a long period of time. The Teflon coated membrane also greatly reduces buildup on the diffuser, making pulling the diffuser for cleaning very unlikely. The base has a large opening for easy filling and molded installation holes for easy placement. Produces highly desired micro-bubbles even at minimal head pressure. Comes preassembled - fill the base and install. Simply fill the base with stone to sink diffuser, spin the membrane diffuser back on, spin on the barb fitting and attach hose, tighten clamp (comes with clamp), and it's ready for install.
